Let's start with Halloween:
Avery wasn't feeling super great on Halloween though it is hard to tell from her happy face in all the pictures. Adam ventured out with our little man who no joke knocked on Every House in our Entire Neighborhood scoring big time in the candy department. I stayed home with my little snot princess to hand out candy and watch weird episodes of The Twilight Zone with our friend ChewBert.
Thanksgiving 2014:
Unfortunately this year I had to miss our family Thanksgiving dinner because I had to work. I like to help people who are stuck in the hospital over the holidays but it is still really hard to miss my sweet littles. At the time we were warming Avery into eating "grown up" food. She loved it so much she wouldn't stop shoving handfuls into her mouth. Don't worry, I made it home in time for pie so all was not lost.
Christmas 2014:
Christmas Eve was very low key. We usually travel all over creation but this year we just stayed home. We got to watch our baby girl discover the magic of her first Christmas. We ate a delicious dinner made by my incredible sister in law while watching a kids movie about building a snowman army. Then we made cookies for Santa while the first seasonal snow finally decided to fall. It was serious Christmas Magic.
Christmas Day was greeted with great excitement especially by my little man who got a new big boy bike. I'm pretty sure Avery didn't know what was going on but was still excited that she got to rip paper.
The evening was spent with family.
2014 is a year we will never forget. We finally found and adopted our sweet little girl. I quit my new job and went back to my old job. I went back to school because I hate myself. I survived a year with an infant, which is a big deal. When you have a tendency of miscarrying, SIDS becomes something you constantly fret about.Speaking about miscarriages, don't forget that horrific surprise this year. Here is to a new year full of open opportunities and adventures.
