My First Half Marathon

Running a marathon has always been on my bucket list.  Running a half marathon is the first step and for me A VERY BIG DEAL.  Running is hard.  It makes every joint in my body ache like they are being squeezed by a vice. Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY.  Running makes me feel alive and like I can conquer the world.

Running a race 5 days after the Boston Marathon bombings was such an incredible experience.  I feel so much love for Boston and it was truly an honor to run not only for me but also for them.  The morning was filled with grey skies and downpour. Cheers filled the air along with Sweet Caroline.  Everyone had a huge smile on their face.  There was energy and hope.  I loved it and I definitely want to run another one.  I  kicked my personal butt with a finishing time of 2:29:00

A special thank you to Aunt Morgan for entertaining my little man starting at the crack of dawn. Also thank you to my step mom who hooked us up with a great parking spot and emergency hot chocolate.  Without you guys I'm pretty sure I would have turned into frosty.
